My current research focuses on global biogeographical patterns of aquatic biodiversity and their underlying direct and indirect drivers. I investigate with various macroecological and biogeographical methods how global changes alter the natural distribution of biodiversity. My main research topics are: biogeography, macroecology, invasion biology; with a special emphasis on the development of methods, such as species distribution modelling, and facilitating community access to these methods by publishing open-source software in R.
